Camp Information

Each camp is designed to appeal to kids of diverse skill levels and a wide range of ages. Choose between the AM and PM sessions or register for both as an all-day option. Extended care opportunities are available.

Who can attend?

Day Camps are for children who are currently in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

What's the schedule?

Day Camps: Choose either the AM or PM Session, or stay for the Full Day.

AM Session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
PM Session: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Full-Day: 9:00 AM – 4:00PM

Extended Care available from 7:45-9 AM or 4-5:30 PM

What is extended care?

Extended care consists of supervised play experiences for the children scheduled to stay before or after regular camp hours and is available from 7:45-9 AM, and 4-5:30 PM. Our staff to child ratio will be the same as in camp: 1 adult for every 6 children.  In order to ensure extended care for your child, pre-registration is required two weeks prior to the start of camp.  Typically, we cannot accept same-day registration for extended care.

12-1 PM extended care included with the price of a Full Day registration.  For those children that are registered for only the AM or PM Session, 12-1 PM extended care is available upon request.  Please email Aimee at reservations@theicm.org to schedule.

$25 per Session (AM or PM)
$50 per Full-Day Camp

$10 per Extended Care Block, 7:45-9 AM or 4-5:30 PM
– Fee includes supplies and snack.

Available Discounts
Members of The Iowa Children’s Museum receive a 10% discount on camp fees.

What do full-day campers do for lunch?

Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day. The Museum will provide an afternoon snack.

What is the class size?

Maximum of 24 students.

What is the ratio of adults to children?

Our ratio of adults to children is one adult per six children.

When does camp registration close?

Registration is closed when camp capacity is reached or 3 days prior to the start of camp.  We will maintain waiting lists for all camps at capacity.

Spring Break Camps at The ICM

Make the most of Spring Break at The Iowa Children’s Museum! Campers participate in exciting learning activities led by skilled museum PLAYologist educators, explore the museum’s interactive exhibits, and experience just how fun active learning can be! Space is limited. Register early!

Session Details:

Comic Book Storytelling

Using the museum as inspiration, campers will have a chance to create their own comic book characters! We will use collage, drawings and 3D materials to bring each story to life. This camp is for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Amazing Mazes and Labyrinths

Do you like to solve puzzles? Do you like to build? Let’s get lost as we challenge campers’ skills in creating all sorts of mazes of different shapes and sizes! This camp is for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

“Dough” You Like to Play?

Explore many “dough-lightful” materials as you create during this “dough-tally” awesome camp! Campers will make and play with play dough, clay, slime and more! This camp is for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Passport to Play

How do you play? Campers will learn all the ways that people from different cultures and countries have fun and explore the world around them! This camp is for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Museum Mysteries

Campers will be on a mission to discover and create while exploring the mysteries of the museum! This camp is for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Click the registration button (above) for the camp you wish to sign up for. This will bring you to our registration portal.

Click the red “Register” button in the top left corner.

Click “Logon”

Click “Need help logging on?”

Enter the email address associated with your ICM membership.

Click “Continue.”

You’ll receive an email with your log-in information. Check your spam folder if you do not see the reset email. As soon as you log in, you’ll be prompted to create your new password.

If you're not a museum member...

We recommend setting up a user profile so that you can log-in to register easily and more quickly in the future. When you’re ready to register for a camp…
