Art Studio
Let your imagination soar in this exhibit where you can get messy and create whatever you can dream up! Kids of all ages can participate in structured and unstructured art activities that stretch their imagination and offer freedom of expression using a variety of unique materials, tools, and processes. Special emphasis is placed on using recycled materials to create art. The design of this exhibit allows visitors to flow in and out at their leisure, accommodating a variety of ages, attention spans, and schedules.
This exhibit space features Art Think!, an innovative program funded by the Iowa Arts Council designed to develop the critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills of youth through the experience of creating art.
Experience in the arts is essential for every child’s development into a healthy, successful adult.
Einstein himself said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
It’s the process of creating art that’s important, not the quality of the final product. Most importantly, get involved yourself. Don’t be afraid to get out the glue and create alongside your child. So relax if you don’t recognize your child’s work of art…it’s all good!
