Visit the Iowa Children’s Museum to experience the Playing Is Learning Initiative!
Play is critically important in the everyday lives of children – play brings joy, fun, and exploration of new ideas. Play creates a foundation for reading, math, science, and art, bringing these skills together with a motivation to learn.
Throughout the museum, there is signage about Playing Is Learning including Did You Know? to communicate general concepts about play, Factoid! talk about cool findings from the science of play and Try This Here! gives you and your child specific ideas about how to play in each exhibit.
