The mission of The Iowa Children’s Museum (The ICM) is to inspire every child to imagine, create, discover, and explore through the power of play. The ICM is dedicated to educating children and strengthening families in a dynamic learning environment. “Playing to learn” at The ICM supplements area school curricula and reflects National Education Standards in an environment that stimulates visitors of all ages to become life-long learners. In a world where the stresses of daily living are high and the expectations of children are demanding, the educational and social value of the informal learning opportunities provided by The ICM are increasingly important to healthy child development.
