Week of the Young Child

The Week of the Young Child is a time to celebrate the joy and wonder of childhood and to highlight the vital role that families, caregivers, and educators play in supporting children’s growth and development. On this page, you will find activities that will take place during the Celebration of The Young Child week in our community. These activities are designed to engage young children and their families and to provide opportunities for learning and growth. Mindful Movement for Social Emotional Learning with Sandra Busta

Free DHS-approved workshop (1.5 training credits), hosted by The Iowa Children’s Museum

Activities for Young Children & Families

Roller Skating (4/1 from 2-4 p.m.) at Robert A Lee Recreation Center Gym

Beginners only. No fee; skates are also lent at no fee.
